DiSTI, a global leader in Human Machine Interface (HMI) development, announced today it received a contract from The Boeing Company as a result of a contract award from the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division for the first F/A-18E maintenance trainers to be delivered to an international military. DiSTI’s next generation 3-D virtual maintenance training technology was selected by Boeing for development of the Student Aircraft Interface Trainer Station (SAITS) for the F/A-18E Australian Super Hornet Integrated Visual Environment Maintenance Trainer (IVEMT) to be delivered to the Royal Australian Air Force. The IVEMT is one element of the complete F/A-18E training system being developed by Boeing’s Training Systems and Services division. The IVEMT will provide training for maintainers on ground operation, maintenance, and testing procedures for the F/A-18E aircraft including avionics, environmental control, electrical, flight control, fuel, engines, landing gear, and hydraulic systems. |

Raytheon Technical Services Company LLC (RTSC), a subsidiary of Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN), has been selected by the U.S. Navy to provide education and training solutions for the Naval Education and Training Professional Development and Technology Center. The multiple award indefinite delivery-indefinite quantity contract has a ceiling valued at $43 million with cost-plus fixed-fee and firm fixed-price delivery orders. The base year ceiling is estimated at $8.4 million, and the contract carries four, one-year options. |

Thanks to ASD-Network for the news: "Boeing announced today that it has been awarded a $33 million U.S. Air Force Foreign Military Sales contract to provide a C-17 Aircrew Training System (ATS) to the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF). The contract marks the first international sale of the system. The ATS, which will be located at the RAAF's Amberley base, consists of a Weapons Systems Trainer, a loadmaster station and a learning center."

Orlando Sentinel staff writer Richard Burnett writes about a recent Raydon contract win: "The Army's training-contract agency in Orlando has awarded Daytona Beach-based Raydon Corp. a deal potentially worth $53 million to produce anti-IED training technologies. Raydon's initial contract in the program is worth $20.5 million. If the Army exercises all options, the deal could be worth $53 million, according to the company."

Engineering & Computer Simulations (ECS) announced today that it received a $1.4 million contract award from the U.S. Army RDECOM Simulation and Training Technology Center (RDECOM-STTC) to adapt its US-Nexus (a National Guard sponsored program that provides a secure persistent virtual world capability for training and collaboration) to meet the US Army’s constantly evolving medical training requirements. A primary component of this work entails accessing the virtual world features through Internet enabled mobile devices which are becoming more prevalent in the Army’s workforce. |
