Lou Frey Memorial Golf Tournament

On the Course Benefiting the National Center for Simulation (NCS) Scholarship and STEM Activities and the Lou Frey Institute (LFI) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) to Raise Funds for STEM and Civics Education

NCS partners with the Lou Frey Institute (LFI) at UCF to conduct its annual Scholarship Fundraising Golf Tournament.  Proceeds from the golf tournament support scholarships for students at the University of Central Florida (UCF), Florida Virtual Schools (FLVS), and several high schools in Orange, Osceola, and Seminole Counties. In addition, funds raised at this event support education and workforce initiatives that benefit both elementary, middle, and high school programs throughout Central Florida.

Scholarships are offered in the fall and spring semesters at UCF to incoming freshmen who show an interest in STEM-focused careers or to graduate students pursuing Master’s or Doctoral Degrees in Simulation from UCF’s Institute for Simulation & Training (IST). Supporting funds also go to student counselors who support our STEM Camps throughout the summer.

The National Center for Simulation and the Lou Frey Institute at the UCF greatly appreciate the support of our generous sponsors who annually make this an extraordinary event.

WHY SHOULD WE CARE?

Your support is critical to addressing the STEM challenge and helping the United States remain a world leader in STEM education by encouraging more students to join the STEM ranks. According to the U.S. Government, STEM occupations are outpacing STEM graduates, which requires an “all hands on deck challenge” to increase the number of STEM students. As such, the National Center for Simulation has proven that we have access to a unique set of capabilities to assist in addressing the STEM challenge by leveraging the proceeds of this tournament to promote and lead STEM initiatives for the Modeling, Simulation & Training (MS&T) community by bringing our resources, expertise, and services of NCS and its members to strengthen the pipeline for the future workforce.
