Association for Business Simulation and Experiential Learning

The Association for Business Simulation and Experiential Learning (ABSEL) is an organization for academics and professionals who develop simulations, experiential learning exercises, and innovative educational methods to promote effective teaching in business, management, and organization-related fields. Both newcomers and experts in the design, use, and research of simulations, games, experiential techniques, and innovative education methods will benefit from ABSEL. Members meet at ABSEL’s annual conference to exchange information and network with colleagues working in related areas. ABSEL is both interdisciplinary and global in scope, with ties to many other organizations interested in experiential learning around the globe. These include the International Simulation and Gaming Association (ISAGA), the Japanese Association of Simulation and Gaming (JASAG), and the North American Simulation and Gaming Association (NASAGA). ABSEL publishes the Journal of Experiential Learning in Business, a blind peer-reviewed journal, and maintains over 50 years of conference proceedings accessible to everyone through the ABSEL website.

ABSEL’s objectives are to:

• Enhance the development and application of business simulations, experiential learning exercises, and innovative education and training methods
• Encourage wider use of simulations and experiential methods, particularly in business education
• Enhance learning assessment techniques and the development of learning theory related to simulations, experiential learning, and innovation methods
• Facilitate communication among professionals designing and using business simulations, experiential methodologies, and innovation methods

Please see ABSEL’s website for its conference history and 50 years of conference proceedings.
