VRAI is a virtual and augmented reality content creation company specalising in situational awareness training simulators for hazardous environments. We create bespoke, mixed media situational awareness simulators, which combine real video footage with computer generated elements in an interactive environment to authentically reproduce potential dangers faced in hazardous environments. We also offer off-the-shelf solutions for defence, peacekeeping and NGOs working in hostile environments. We have recently worked with the United Nations Mine Action Service in Somalia creating a counter IED simulation designed to educate local staff on the challenges of IED detection. This virtual reality simulator allowed participants experience the difficulties faced by UNMAS personnel in Mogadishu, particularly in relation to IEDs. It included elements filmed on the ground in Somalia to provide an authentic experience of the dangers there.
