On Wednesday, February 24, 2010 the National Center for Simulation (NCS) awarded one of its annual scholarships to Arturo Barreto, first year student of the University of Central Florida. Arturo was the happy recipient of the Vince & Beth Amico Scholarship for Modeling and Simulation awarded through UCF. NCS has made bi-annual awards through the University of Central Florida and Daytona State College every year since 2002. Scholarship applicants must be an incoming freshman with a demonstrated interest in modeling and simulation, with preference given to students who participated in the Modeling and Simulation Program at University High School, the Crooms Academy of Information and Technology, or the Institute of Engineering and Technology at Lyman High School.
