Congressman John Mica hosts NCS-led Industry Team on Capitol Hill, 25-26 Feb 2013

Congressman John Mica organized an Industry leader visit to Capitol Hill to engage elected officials on the impact of potential sequestration cuts on the defense Industry in Florida and the possibility of another round of Base Realignment & Closure (BRAC) in 2015.  Participants included:  Jim Craig, LMCO & NCS Board Member; Dr. Mike Macedonia, SAIC & NCS Board Member; Brent Smith, ECS; Lt Gen (Ret) Tom Baptiste, NCS; BG (R) Steve Seay; Rick Weddle, EDC; Brian McManus, Director of Federal Affairs for Florida Governor Scott; and Secretary Anthony Principi, The Principi Group (supporting the FDSTF).

Congressman Mica was able to orchestrate an impressive schedule including meetings with the following:

Congressman Mica also invited 20+ Industry leaders to join the discussion in his office just before
      lunch

An immediate action from the visit will be proposed language for insertion in the Continuing Resolution (CR) or a possible Defense Appropriations Bill that emphasizes MS&T as a cost effective alternative to live training critical to war fighter readiness in this resource constrained environment.
