JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) North Florida Office is pleased to announce the SBA’s 2013 North Florida Small Business Week District winners.

The 2013 SBA North Florida District Small Business Person of the Year is Andre Uribe. Mr. Uribe is the Vice President of Power Grid Engineering, LLC (PGE), located in Orlando, FL. The Company specializes in engineering design and consultation for the power systems industry. PGE works with utility companies to plan and design reliable, highly secure network architecture.

Harry Arnon, President Hernon Manufacturing (Orlando), has been named the Small Business Exporter of the Year.

Brian Barquilla, Owner of Advantage Business Magazine (Jacksonville), has been named the Small Business Media Advocate of the Year.

Eloy Bazaldua, President of RM Myers Company, Inc. (Jacksonville), has been named the Minority Owned Small Business Person of the Year.

Elizabeth Burch, President of Dignitas Technologies, Inc. (Orlando), has been named the Woman Owned Small Business Person of the Year.

Christopher Hurn, CEO/Cofounder of Mercantile Capital Corporation (Orlando), has been named Small Business Financial Services Champion of the year.

Lauren Little, Franchise Owner, Edible Arrangements (Jacksonville), has been named the Veteran Owned Small Business Person of the Year.
State winners for these categories are expected to be announced on April 15, 2013. The 2013 Small Business Week Award Winners from the Jacksonville area will be recognized at the 21st Annual Small Business Week & Lender Awards Celebration on April 30, 2013 in Jacksonville at the University of North Florida’s University Center from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.
