Fairfax, Virginia-based Harrity & Harrity LLP law firm’s four-year minority business incubator has launched its first Black-owned firm in metro Orlando this month.

Attorney James Bennin, 41, is the founder and owner of Onyx IP Group law firm at 3065 Daniels Road, Suite 1013, in Winter Garden, the first fully Black-owned intellectual property law firm launched June 2 by the minority business incubator that aims to increase diversity in the legal field.

Onyx IP Group provides intellectual property services in the electrical, mechanical and software sectors to individuals and companies around the world. The firm currently has a team of four attorneys and one administrator on staff, and Bennin plans to grow organically. “I’m hoping to double the size of the firm in the next five years and help a substantial number of youths” explore law careers, he said.
