The National Center for Simulation (NCS) is pleased to announce that it has hired retired Air Force Lt. Gen. Tom Baptiste as its President and Executive Director. Baptiste brings a wealth of knowledge and strategic vision to the world-renowned Simulation Center. While on active duty, Baptiste (a combat proven fighter pilot) commanded with distinction at three different levels; served as the Deputy Chairman, NATO Military Committee; and Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations, Supreme HQ Allied Powers Europe in Belgium among other prestigious positions.
Since retirement, he has been active in the simulation community and served as a senior advisor to the State Department and Gen (Ret) James L. Jones, Special Envoy for Middle East Regional Security. “I am pleased to serve as the next President and Executive Director of NCS”, stated Baptiste. “Serving the national simulation community from Central Florida is, indeed, an honor as we look for new ways to employ simulation to benefit our government and private sectors and advance to the next level. I look forward to serving the community as NCS President.”
The National Center for Simulation is a member-supported non-profit organization formed in 1993 as the link among the defense industry, government, and academia on behalf of the entire simulation, training, and modeling community. The Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Lee Lacy, commented on Lt. Gen Baptiste joining the NCS team: “We are really excited to have someone of Tom’s stature to lead the organization. His wealth of experience bringing together military organizations will be a great asset as we continue to work to bring together government, industry, and academia to advance simulation within our local and National communities.”
Baptiste becomes the President and Executive Director of the National Center for Simulation on Monday, January 18, 2010.
