NCS Partners with Army Research Lab and UCF IST to host GEMS Summer Camps

NCS partnered with the Army Research Lab – Orlando and UCF/IST to host three separate one-week “Gains in the Education of Mathematics and Science (GEMS) summer camps.  The camps bring 6th-8th grade students to the Reseach Park for a week long orientation into four fields/industries: modeling & simulation, space, medical and entertainment.  In addition to the Research Park and UCF ROTC, the students visited NASA Kennedy Space Center, the Veterans Adminstration (VA) Simulation Learning Center (SimLEARN) at Lake Nona and Universal Studios.  Approximately 100 students attended the camps and all students who successfully completed the camp were rewarded with a $100 stipend.  Many thanks to Neal Finkelstein and his team for designing the camp content and successfully executing the camp.  Both the children and their parents were thrilled with their experiences!
