On 10 Nov, the National Center for Simulation (NCS) hosted an electronics recycling amnesty event at Partnership III to support their scholarship efforts at UCF and Daytona State College. Southeastern Data provided the recycling services and collected over 4000 lbs of material from over 25 different companies, consisting of 73 cathode ray tube monitors, 897 lbs of mixed plastic, 396 lbs of copper bearing, and 886 lbs of uninterruptable power supply scrap. More than 1200 lbs of toxic lead was diverted from landfills as a result of this event. Companies that missed this event may still take advantage of this promotion by contacting Southeastern Data at 407-971-4654 or website@southeasterndata.com, and request pick-up service. Be sure to mention that it’s to benefit the NCS scholarship funds.
This was the first of what we hope will be at least two recycling events per year. Watch the NCS website for the next scheduled event. Thank you to all the companies that supported this effort to protect our environment and support NCS scholarship fundraising.
