Orlando – August 2, 2013 – QinetiQ (pronounced “kinetic”), an international defense, security and aerospace company listed on the London Stock Exchange, officially opened their new Training and Simulation Services Office in Orlando and will commemorate the event at an open house and ribbon cutting Aug. 6 from 4 – 6 p.m.

“We are delighted to be investing in the U.S. Modeling and Simulation market in Orlando,” said Dr. Miles Adcock, Managing Director of QinetiQ’s Training and Simulation Services business. “QinetiQ has a strong track record built over many years in the use of Commercial Off-the-Shelf and Gaming technologies to successfully transform training, principally for the UK Ministry of Defence.”
“We are looking forward to further developing our existing relationships in Florida and bringing our learning and capabilities into the region to help industry, government, and most importantly, the U.S. Department of Defense, to increase performance and achieve significant cost savings,” Adcock said.

QinetiQ delivers training solutions to not only their military customers, but all critical industries that need to understand the environment in which they work. Along with training and educating their customer, QinetiQ builds simulation systems in the most cost-effective but efficient way. The systems delivered make a difference in the world, saving lives in Afghanistan, or helping save lives in the coal industry. QinetiQ’s experience in training and simulation has yielded tremendous cost savings and efficiencies during the austere budget over the last decade in Europe. They hope to bring lessons learned and their established capability to support the U.S. customer in this fiscally-challenging time.

Michael J. Motko, a retired U.S. Air Force Officer and fighter pilot leads the Orlando office, located in the Research Park on UCF’s campus. Motko has worked in the Training and Simulation industry for more than 15 years, and also serves as an Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) Sub-Committee Chair and is Vice President of the Central Florida Navy League.
